Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2, 2026
This page describes the iOS app. See the Android privacy policy for the Google Play app.
Overview
HandyPJC ("the App") is developed by Pisces Studio. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information Handled by the App
HandyPJC does not require an account and Pisces Studio does not operate a server that receives your projector configurations or PJLink credentials. The App stores the following data locally on your device:
- Projector configurations — names, IP addresses, and port numbers of your projectors
- Authentication credentials — PJLink passwords stored securely in the iOS Keychain
- Group settings — projector group names and assignments
- Scenes and run history — automation steps, pinned scenes, and execution results
- Health and maintenance records — recent device status, lamp or filter hours, thresholds, and check results
- App preferences — such as scan timeout settings
iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your projector, group, and scene configurations are synced across your devices using Apple's CloudKit. This data is stored in your private iCloud container and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data. PJLink passwords remain in Keychain and are not written to the iCloud database.
Network Access
The App communicates with projectors on your local network using the PJLink protocol (TCP port 4352). This communication happens entirely within your local area network and does not pass through any external servers.
The App uses your device's camera solely for scanning IP addresses from labels or displays. Camera images are processed on-device and are never stored or transmitted.
Apple Watch
If you install the Apple Watch app, HandyPJC exchanges projector summaries, pinned scenes, health status, command requests, and progress with your paired iPhone using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. The Watch app routes projector commands through the paired iPhone and does not send your projector credentials to Pisces Studio.
Advertising and Consent
The free version of HandyPJC displays advertisements using Google AdMob. Subject to your region, consent choices, and iOS tracking permission, Google and its advertising partners may process information such as your IP address or approximate location, device and advertising identifiers, app and ad interactions, and diagnostic information to deliver, measure, prevent fraud in, and improve advertising.
When required, the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before requesting ads. You may decline personalised advertising without losing the App's projector-control features. You may review or change an available consent choice from Settings > Privacy Choices in the App. You can also change the iOS tracking permission in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Google processes advertising data under its own terms and policies. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Other Third-Party Services
HandyPJC also uses the following service:
- Apple StoreKit (In-App Purchases) — We offer a "HandyPJC Pro" in-app purchase to unlock premium features and remove ads. Purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
Projector settings, credentials, groups, scenes, health and maintenance records, and preferences remain on your device until you remove them or uninstall the App. If iCloud sync is enabled, synced data may remain in your private iCloud container and can be managed through your Apple account and iCloud settings. Advertising data processed by Google is retained according to Google's policies.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal data processed about you, including access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, or withdrawal of consent. Use the in-App privacy choices and iOS settings described above for advertising controls. You may also contact us with a privacy request. Because Pisces Studio does not receive your projector configurations or PJLink credentials, we cannot retrieve those items from your device or private iCloud container.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App is a professional tool intended for use by AV professionals and facility managers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
