Android Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2026
This policy covers Handy PJC / HandyPJC (掌中投控) for Android, package com.PiscesStudio.HandyPJC, developed by Pisces Studio. Features described below, including Pro purchases, backups and camera scanning, apply where available in your installed version. For iPhone and iPad, see the iOS privacy policy.
Projector control and local data
No HandyPJC account is required. Projector names, network addresses and ports, groups, scenes, settings, equipment maintenance records and recent execution results are stored on your device. Pisces Studio does not operate a server to receive these configurations or your PJLink passwords.
The Android 3.0 app protects saved PJLink passwords using Android Keystore-backed encryption. It connects directly to the projector addresses you select using PJLink, including authentication when required. PJLink traffic is not encrypted by TLS; use a network you trust. Local network discovery runs when you request it. Equipment health records refer to projector status, not personal medical information.
Camera text recognition
Where available, you can use the system camera to capture an image for IP address recognition. ML Kit processes the image on the device. HandyPJC does not retain or upload the photo. The camera application may handle its own copies under its settings.
Google ML Kit can send technical information to Google for diagnostics and usage analysis, including app and device information, installation identifiers, performance, configuration and feature events. This is separate from the image processed on your device. See Google’s ML Kit data disclosure.
Advertising and privacy choices
The free app uses Google AdMob. Depending on your region, consent and settings, Google and its advertising partners process IP-derived approximate location, device or advertising identifiers, app and ad interactions, and diagnostic information for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. This is not a request for GPS location access.
The app uses Google’s User Messaging Platform for applicable consent choices and gates ad requests on the platform’s consent status. Where available, open Settings > Privacy choices to review your choices. Declining personalised advertising does not remove projector-control features. You can also manage advertising identifiers in Android settings. Versions supporting Pro stop requesting banner ads when Pro is active.
See Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from apps using its services. Google’s advertising and ML Kit SDKs use encrypted connections for their transmitted data.
Google Play purchases
Where Pro purchases are available, Google Play processes the payment. HandyPJC does not receive your card or bank details. The app uses the purchase status and a signed receipt to verify Pro, restore purchases and provide limited offline access. The Android 3.0 app caches verification for up to seven days and checks ownership again when it can connect. Google retains transaction records under its own policies.
Backups and exports
Where available, manual JSON backups contain projector network configurations, groups and scenes, but exclude passwords, purchase receipts and history. Equipment reports may also be exported. You choose the destination through Android’s document picker; a selected cloud provider handles uploaded files under its own policy. These exports do not provide automatic iCloud or cross-platform syncing. Delete exported copies separately when you no longer need them.
Retention, deletion and contact
You can remove saved projectors and their passwords in the app. Clear the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstall to remove local app data. The Android 3.0 app excludes its internal data from Android cloud backup and device transfer. Exports and Google’s purchase or advertising records are not removed by uninstalling.
If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send and use it to respond and resolve your request. Do not send projector passwords or payment details. We keep support correspondence as needed for that purpose and applicable obligations. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of information we hold; we cannot retrieve local projector data that was never sent to us. Google handles requests for data it controls under its own policies.
Children and policy updates
HandyPJC is an AV equipment utility and is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has sent personal information to us. We will post policy changes here with an updated date. The previous Android policy remains available at its earlier address for reference.
